Sat 13th & Sun 14th @ 11am – 4.30pm:
Halifax Food & Drink Festival:
If you eat – attendance is compulsory. Hosted by Yorkshire Life’s Anne Stirk, with celebrity chef Kevin Woodford,
who will be doing demonstrations on both days, including giving one person the chance to get up on stage with him.
Also Holdsworth House, the Cooking School (based at Dean Clough), Bloc Chocolate, Robert Ramsden,
Burdass Lamb and Curry Cuisine will all be doing demonstrations on stage, a cookery theatre, exhibition stands,
Deliciously Yorkshire’s producers market, children’s entertainment and more
– all you need bring is an appetite (£1 Adults & under 16’s free)

Mon 15th @ midday – 2pm:
BiteSize Gigs – Unwrap your sandwiches, unpack your troubles & spend your lunch hour sating your appetite & quenching
your musical thirst to the accompaniment of some of the regions finest musicians.
The gigs will be happening each Mon, Wed & Fri from today until the end of August (Free)

Wed 17th @ 5pm – 8pm:
‘Face the Extreme’ Bike Week Spectacular with
The Clan – Scotland’s premier trick cycling team falls upon the Piece Hall like some latter day border raiders.
Performing their peerless Air Show followed by a tricks masterclass for all you push iron aficionados with a thirst for learning.
The evening will also be complimented by a number of trade stands for those who are bitten by the cycling bug. (Free)

Fri 19th @ 5pm – 7pm:
Revive Concerts –
Put the World on pause & unwind into your weekend with a cheeky beer & quality music for company (bar available) -
Sweet as a nut. The concerts will be happening in the Courtyard on the 1st & 3rd Fridays of the month until the end of August. (Free)

Sat 20th @ 2pm – 9pm: Calderdale Pride/Picnic in the Piece Hall –
All, gay friendly, roads lead to the Piece Hall as we have the pleasure of being host to Calderdale LGBT’s
first annual Pride Event. Starting with a community picnic you can enjoy a full programme of live events from the stage,
bands, quality DJ’s, food, licensed bars, pride market & special guests – bring food, friends, picnic blanket & let the party roll.

BRITISH ARMED FORCES AND VETERANS DAY

SATURDAY 27th JUNE 2009 - MIDDAY

HANG OUT THE BUNTING, BEAT ON THE DRUM, COME JOIN WITH US AND CELEBRATE THE SPECIAL ONES.....
Take a few moments out of your day to observe the unique contribution of the british armed forces. Personnel to the borough, the region and the country at large.
CELEBRATE DIVERSITY - For all ex-service personnel are veterans, whatever their age, or service experience.
CELEBRATE CONTRIBUTION - For even as Civvies they continue to give to their communities through the transferable skills acquired when serving
CELEBRATE SUPPORT - For there is a wide range of support and advice available to service personnel and veterians through the public, charity and voluntary sector.
CELEBRATE - THE DAY - Beginning with a march from the town hall at midday this pitches up in the Piece Hall and seamlessly morphs into a veterans badge giving ceremony by the mayor.

This will be underpinned by cadet force demonstrations, band music, stands by the armed forces, emergency services and support agencies,
displays about the duke of Wellington's regiment, military vehicle showcase, a remembrance recording -
and a bar in which to raise a glass in praise of those who did, those who do and those who will take the king's shilling...

Temporary Art Space (Unit 34/35)

Temporary Art Space is an unfunded, artist-run project with a lifespan of six months,
situated in the magnificent Grade 1 listed Piece Hall in Halifax and co-directed by Alice Bradshaw,
Bob Milner, Tom Senior, Kevin Boniface & Georgia Boniface.

Exhibition
Temporary Art Show -
This inaugural exhibition at Temporary Art Space follows on from the hugely successful
exhibition of the same name in neighbouring Huddersfield.
The five co-founding, co-directing artists will show alongside artists selected
from open calls responding to the broad theme of "temporary."

Opening: Friday 6th March 2009, 5-8pm - Until Friday 28th March 2009
